The great Kitzbühel artist, Alfons Walde, shows us that the small village of Aurach is adorned with a picturesque backdrop. Not just once has the church and the cosy Aurach village square been motifs in his art, which has carried the tranquil municipality out into the wide world.

Only about 5 km south of Kitzbühel, the idyll village was shaped by mining. And even today, its inhabitants are deeply connected with the mighty rocky mountains that surround them. Mountains and nature show their best sides in Aurach and it would be far from them to be stingy with their beauty, whether in winter or summer.
